Fan-Fiction? More like Non-Fiction; Darknet Vendor Busted

A Darknet vendor was busted this week after publishing a series of stories on Reddit about a man selling kilos of fentanyl via darknet markets. The man in the story was a twenty-seven-year-old former doctor that became a drug dealer and was afraid he was being watched by the feds. To the writer’s surprise, he actually was.

The writer’s home on 344 Kearney Avenue in New Jersey was raided by the Drug Enforcement Agency and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service on March 20th, 2017. Federal authorities discovered the man—Chukwuemeka Okpareke A.K.A “BMoreProduct1”— was actually committing the crimes he masqueraded as fiction. The federal authorities spent over twelve hours at his home.

Okpareke was arrested Monday, charged with a single count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl analogues. Authorities also found encrypted messaging and anonymity apps on his Galaxy S5, where they found his Reddit short stories as well. The man is expected to be tried in a federal court in New York and could face from ten years to life in prison.
