Eight Arrests in Major Counterfeit Euro Fraud Ring

One of the biggest vendors of counterfeit Euro currency has been busted in Italy. This criminal network sold their counterfeit Euros on various darknet markets, including Alphabay and Dream Market. Europol worked with Italian authorities to arrest all members of the fraud ring, who were selling the high quality counterfeit notes at 30% of face value. Profits exceeded 160,000 Euros, which they tried to move through a small European Bitcoin exchange. It is not known exactly how authorities closed in on the group.
